Tide pools in FL

Hello, This maybe the wrong forum for this but, I was wondering if anyone knew of any interesting tide pools to explore within around an hour or two of Tampa. thanks!

That part of Florida does not have the rock structures or the tidal range to create the kind of tide pools you find in some other places. A real tide pool always has some water, even at low tide, and I've never seen one south of New England on East Coast, or below Northern California on the West Coast. They may exist, but I don't know of any, and I do know that there are no natural tide pools around Tampa. Unless you count certain parts of the city itself.

just hit the gulf at low tide, it's one big tide pool with 1-2 foot water for hundreds of miles up and down the coast and in some places, one to two miles out from the coast.

look close and you'll find jawfish, etc. in 6"-12" of water.

If I had a jawfish in 6 to 12 inches of water, I'd make sure the water was securely covered. Otherwise, the jawfish will jump out. Sure, it's a challenge to cover thousands of square miles of water, but what the heck. There may be a little cover sag here and there, but it will keep lots of people busy who would otherwise wind up on Nancy Grace.
