Is this a tiger cowrie? Got 2 for my tank .. wife really likes them. We are all LPS, one NPS coral, and 1 leather. I'm told it will go after softies and leathers. But, not 100% if it's a tiger.

It shouldn't go after your leathers at all, and isn't very likely to go after the others, either. It does have one of the broadest diets of the cowries, though.

Cheers,

So, we had the two in the 100G tank. They were loving the leather. Not sure if they were eating it, nothing seems to be mixing, but the leather curled up and doesn't look so great. Next, I saw them around the drendo, going after it. So, I moved these guys to the sump. Can they live in the sump?

Sure. They will graze the glass for microorganisms and may eat any algae they come across, too. They've always seemed to be repelled by the leathers in the wild, but they might taste of the dendro.

Cheers,

Don

I had one eat some sun coral polyps, slowly. I didn't catch it in the act for a long time. It did however eat the Green Palythoas and xenia that I didn't want in the tank.
