Tiger Tail Cuke

I typically don't buy anything that I haven't done a fair bit of research on but I bought a tiger tail cucumber yesterday and then read up on him and I must admit he scares me a bit. I ended up putting him in the QT because when I got home with him he had stretched himself out to about 8 inches long and puffed up, kinda freaky. So I started reading on him and learned that if he gets freaked or dies he puts his insides out and goes toxic and can kill everything in the tank? He's doing good this morning and has shrunk back down to the size he was at CRA.

Anybody have experience with one of these guys and have suggestions/advice? :eek1:

This is my cuke and he is doing fine, no problems, and I hope I never have any. He keeps the sand bed turned.

cool! how long have you had him? mine is still in the QT, lolling on the substrate, I need to move him over to the DT as it has sand and the QT doesn't, it's currently crushed coral, soon to be bare bottom when I move the cuke. I'm warming up to him, kinda reminds me of Shrek as he's pink, green and yellowish.

I'm going to try and take good care of him but if for some reason I have trouble with him, i'll let you know and turn him over to more experienced hands.

I have had him about 4 mo. I guess. Sometimes he crawls up on the glass and is stretched to the limit..lol And sometimes he is short and stumpy, the grandsons says he looks like a turd in the water...LOL

and the second is a close up.... he's sloughing a bit of tissue, i'm guessing this is from yesterday when he decided to be about 9-10 inches long and 2 inches in diameter?

he is eating though...
