Time and Date lost when power fails

I have been noticing that every time the power goes out, my AquaController loses its Time and Date, but all other settings are saved. Why is this? It has a new battery in it. Real PITA to have to reset the Tank and Units Date and Time when this occurs. Why does it save the settings and not Date and Time???

you might want to consider, what happens if you un plug it for a day or so (why i don't know) and plug it back in the date and time may be wrong but then again i dont have one of these and is just a guess

Essentially I can unplug it now, plug it back in, and Date and Time have been reset. All settings are saved but Date and Time. Very bizzare.

Any help much appreciated.

All the configuration settings are stored in eeprom, so they do not change/reset even if the battery and AC power are removed at the same time. The 9V battery keeps the clock and datalog intact in the event of a power failure. With the just the 9V battery installed you should still see the menus/run display on the controller. If the display is blank then the battery is dead or the controller has a problem. Note that a 9V battery will only power the controller for 4 to 8 hours by itself.

did you get your question answered or contoller fixed - mine did this today - I can walk over and unplug the contoller and the date/time stay intact but this morning when the power fluttered and went off for a few seconds I lost my date and time settings - everything else ok.

pls advise

Is there a 9v in the aquacontrollerJR? Mine resets date and time way too frequently making it useless as a timer.

The power to the Jr and AC3Pro's clock is supplied by non user replaceable lithium battery. Please contact support@neptunesys.com for additional help in resolving this. Please include the serial number of the controller, the version and date of the firmware (both found in the selftest display).

I moved the plug of the controller to a different outlet and it was running fine ever since. I don't know what was up with mine. it hasn't lost date since I posted. Has been working like a champ.

I lost power today for about 3 minutes. Lost the Date & Time on my AquaController Pro unit. My manual states the display will show "battery low" if the 9V battery needs to be replaced. This is NOT shown. The battery installed is about 3 months old.

I was able to get the issue resolved with 2 battery changes, but now I am having another issue and will be sending the unit back for them to look at. Been meaning to do this but have not had the chance yet,

What is the new issue? Also, please let us know if/when/how these things are resolved. Several of us are still trying to decide whether or not to get a controller.
Thanks!

Not sure what the issue is at the moment, but my DC4HD is not switching at all so nothing seems tow ork. Will be sending it back for them to see what is wrong with it.

Rich,
Try simulating a power failure by unplugging the AC adapter. The backlight should go off but the unit should continue to operate. If it does, then there may have been a surge/power spike when power was restored. The spike move have corrupted the controller's memory, and then the clock was reset. Make sure that the controller is plugged into a surge protected power strip.
