Time for a change

No I'm not giving up the hobby if that is what anyone inferred. It seems several people at work have been posting pictures of themselves on the internet with their patrol cars. They get on different forums and post dumber statements than I. This has started a little uproar to say the least. So to be on the safe side, I guess it's time to change the avatar. Won't be long and I'll find something different to replace the 'ol patch.
Never fails, leave it to the few to cause negative change. I figure better safe than sorry.

For the sake of the obtuse people out there who want to be politically correct, couldn't you define your occupation as; "The enforcement arm of the Judicial System". :)

Just helping you look for a work-around word/phrase.......

Well, from an old retired cop to a current cop.
Might I suggest simply using the acronym P.I.G.

For those of you who thought that was a bad thing. It means:

Pride
Integrity
Guts

Love it. :)

JR, I think this cartoon makes the point. Bwahahaha
As long as you accept MyMonkey's definition.

The officials can ask the officers to stop photographing themselves besides their cars and emblems but they are still

Well, it is apparent nobody else is on this forum from the department. I only say that because I have not been cornered yet. I don't get it, they don't have any problem with us GIVING out patches. Only using photo's on the internet. I don't think I've posted anything inappropriate. I have been on this forum while at work and they do check internet activity. So I figure they will sooner or later see the patch posted. I guess I'll just put a pic of my dog on here. Since here in a few months there will be major negative news about this place. But that is a different story.......

I sort of understand why they object to posting your cars or badges or pix in uniform since I have seen "cops" use them to influence or pressure others but more importantly; They don't want cops to make comments that fall baddly on the dept they work for or the office in general. Plus I have seen a number of fakes try to pose as something they are not.

However I can't imagine how you could get in any trouble on a hobby reef site by having a generic patch showing.

Hey, Is your dog a Rot, Shepherd or Dobie? If so you can dress him in spikes and leathers and pose him in attack mode. Then have his name something like "Sarge". That would be kewl. :) ...and make people show a little respect.

Russ, that is the general idea around here. I can see the point, but still frustrated. It just takes a few to make everyone look bad. My dog is a boxer, I suppose I could find some boxing gloves and have her stand on her hind legs!

Jason, gonna have to wait.... sorry.....

BigScott, it's not so much negative view as people making comments or posting pics that are really not acceptable by "professional standards". I do agree, if I would not have found this forum, I would still be fish only and not having very much luck.
