I guess it would be good, For dimensions will matter and thought two systems for possible insolating if a problem arises would be good, I guess basically two of the largest tanks I can fit with removable divider as well. Six of on half dozen of the other I guess. Maybe this all depends on what I can find used.

My thoughts as well Kathy, Kind of want as much room as possible so the not so fun parts are not made more not so fun ??@?## You get it, Besides if I need more room I have it, unlike some people(Matt ). so I'll just request authorization for more room, better do so before the wedding

Just a thought, I'm asuming the (5) ten gallon tanks are for hatching/ rearing larvae and the smallest juveniles? That gives you 5 hatches wich will take approx 60 days assuming you just have the one pair, at that point you move the two month olds to one of the 20's. Is that the plan? If so I would not plumb them at all, a sponge filter after met is all you are gonna need for up to 60 days. Leave them independant so you can easily remove each one for cleaning before the next hatch goes in. Then on the lower shelf use 20's but turn them like the tens, you can easily get four of them side by side in the space you show. Plumb those to a common filtration sump. At 60 days you move a group from a ten to a twenty, grow them out for another 2-3 months and sell them off. That would be a very nifty and compact system that could easily produce 600/ month+ depending on your pair, hatch rate and survival rate. Remember the pair is only going to get better and produce larger and larger nests. Since you don't need all four 20's for a while yet I'd get two more pairs as "back-ups" and place them in the last 2 twenty gallon tanks. By the time you need those tanks for growout they could already be spawning! Then you can requisition more space for a broodstock system, move them out and start combining hatches in the tens. 
Then you can quit your day job and be a rich clownfish mogul like Kathy

If so I would not plumb them at all, a sponge filter after met is all you are gonna need for up to 60 days. Leave them independent so you can easily remove each one for cleaning before the next hatch goes in.

Sponge filters like this one in the tens for post met clowns up until you move them to the 20's. The 20's would be plumbed to a sump where your biofiltration would be so you don't need the sponge, just an overflow with appriate guard to prvent fish loss.
If I had a cushy job like Kathy with all those percs I certainly wouldn't be mucking around in a fishroom all day :lol:

I've got cushy percs, but the job isn't cushy!
I work hard for the money and the percs, then I come home and muck around in a fishroom. FOR FUN! I look forward to the day i can retire from the day job and still get the percs, and spend my days as David does mucking and driving fish to market.

Carl, as I said above if it were me I'd have the 10 gallon tanks isolated with just airstones at first, sponge filter after met. That is how I do it anyway. I like being able to remove the ten after each use and completely clean & sterilize it. As a rule I move them out at 30 days but that varies depending on my need for the larval tank. Daily cleaning and water changes are your primary filtration while the sponge maintains the nitrification cycle. Just follow Joyce's protocol starting out and then make changes as you see fit.

All Construction is on hold trough Holidays due to a budget miscalculation on my part. Guess I gotta pay the darn Mortgage first.
Batch 4 is at 46 days post hatch. starting to develop 2nd strip on several of the 14 that still remain. Two Pics
Batch 5 is still at 60-75 count. I really Got to count these guys one day. Anyway, all is well. They're at 33 days all with head strips.
Batch 6 is at 18 days with a count of 20. Think I had some airstone issues on this hatch.
Batch 7 Total loss. I thought I'm supposed to be getting better at this!!! Well, to tell the truth, this was actually user error. I went to the CMAS Meeting/outing to Rod's Fish Shop In DeKalb, IL.

That was awesome with a ton of great intel. I ended up getting home late after a side stop on the way home and kind of rushed things with batch 7. I had a hitchhiker POD on the Egg Plate I didn't notice until the next day. Full Grown. Here is a top and bottom view.
Could these full size have eaten 1 day old Fry?? I know I rushed the set up, but the strange thing is I had 50-60 at 3am and by 9am 10-20 and I only found about 15 bodies...Strange Anyhow, I should have a spawn tomorrow night or so, I have been trying to feed the parents better to try for a better number of eggs, still around 300-400, but I guess that could be normal for Percula's. Thanks to all...Carl

One or two 40 day olds seem to have one eye bulging out, any thoughts? Possible Flutes of something? Will be keeping an eye on them, did 50% water change yesterday. Will keep ya all posted. Carl

Loosing some Fry!
Some of the batch 45 day old fry(two or three) still have bulging eye on one side. I lost about 5-6 over the last two days. I did two 90% water changes two days in a row. the Nitrite and nitrate levels were quite high. Not sure if this is a symptom of nitrite poising of if it's Flukes or something. Anyone see anything like this? I also changed the filter sponge because other tank has nitrites/rates zero with almost same set up. I'm gonna try to get a pic of one to post and browse fish disease form. Just looking for any thoughts... Thanks Carl

Seems like the Eyes have returned to normal. Must have been the nitrate/ites. Ammonia was never up. Strange that one filter set up works better on one tank, although bio load not quite the same. Just a heads up to the Newbie's out there. should have a hatch tomorrow. thanks. Carl

Hatch for batch Eight underway on Xmas eve. Nice little turn out of larva on Xmas morning, best present I got.
Found 18 Body dead and 3 unhatched eggs on tank bottom. 10-12 still to hatch on tile. I will try to hold of save the ten due to a small turnout. 4 days ago I had received my 250w ballast from warranty and the following day 50% of the eggs were gone sporadically, so I guessed it was the change in lighting. Possibly eaten, but my main issue lately is Mamma fighting of Turbo snails and there were no marks or evidence of this. Eggs that were gone seemed every other one in the clutch.

We have a spawn. Batch #9 away. Ahead of schedule today 12-28 before pm.
Interesting that the pair chose a new spot on another 6x6 tile I had near the other 4in round pot bottom. I sanitized that tile before switching the tiles after the last hatch night so I thing they must not like something with the chlorinate/declorinate sanitation procedure.
I feel they may be early on this spawn due to better food/feeding and the return of the bad ballest increased tank temp about 2 degrees and is at 83f now. Last batch(8) is down to about five survivors. Kind of slacked off a little in care due to low turn out (under 20) from lighting change and temp change I guess. No excesses on batch Nine so I guess we'll see how it goes. Carl
