Time for the glass

Well I am ready to order my glass for my 225 plywood build. I went to a local place and asked them about a piece the size I need and they told me it would be $185.00 US. This is for a sheet of glass that is 71 3/4" L x 24" T and 1/2" thickness, is this a good price or should I look around some more? Also, they said that I would not need a piece of tempered glass for my tank since it is only the front. I found this a little odd, I thought tempered was the only way to go or am I wrong here. Please help me out with this situation as I am really wanting to order my glass

a lot of people compare prices to glass cages.
it its within reason, then your good.
most tanks are not tempered. most plate glass that thick isnt tempered, and most plywood tanks dont use tempered unless they just have it.
look up fingerlakesreef.com
they are the plywood kings and might give some good advice.

are you going to have any top bracing or euro bracing?

if so, then the 1/2 in regular glass should be fine. my 8ft tank has top bracing and is 1/2in glass. non tempered.

i hope this helps.
