Sometime in the not too distant future I hope to be setting up an anemone tank. Then tank will be mostly various types of anemones and their commensal guests. Besides those animals I plan on having a heart urchin, a lawn mower blenny, and an in tank refugium with macro algae and possibly a couple of very small invertebrates. I know that I have to let my tank mature before I can put in the anemones, but do I need it wait to put in the commensal fish and invertebrates? Also one of the commensal invertebrates I am planning is a anemone carrying hermit crab, do those anemones need the same mature tank conditions?
I hope I am not :deadhorse:
On a related note I am planning to put in a pair of marginated damselfish just to see if they decide to host an anemone (it seems that if they don't it does not seem to be too much of a hard ship). On the sites that I have seen so far it seems that marginated damselfish are not as mean as their brethren so I have been contemplating also putting in a pair of black and white ocellaris, would that work in my tank it is a thirty gallon?
Thank you.
