another update....

RIP Lobo/Brain.... (sorry Tommy/Gofish)
i listed a few pictures in its glory.... (wish i had more pictures...)
the last is a picture of it today (1/24/13) the inside was just falling off the skeleton... and the smell was unique... (at best) when i pulled it out of the tank...

here is a picture of some of the colonies that i was able to cut up. (i plan to reuse/recycle them in the future.)
The original colonies were bleached and dried and rinsed. now some are cut up waiting to replenish my Calcium Reactor.....
(note... there is probably 1-2 more containers worth to be cut up...... i just didnt have the heart to keep cutting. so i will finish later..)

Man, I am so sorry for your loss, I have been there and I know that sick feeling in your gut as you see these animals die. People ask me why I am building my new system the way I am and I can only say I never want to go through that again and that's why.

I hope you stay with the hobby, I know you're probably weighing the pros and cons of it in your head right now, but you had a awesome system. I hope you rebuild it.
 
I am very sorry for your losses. As others have said, unfortunately many of us have been right where you are. For what it's worth, I remember being so frustrated after a similar event (bad batch of water) that I basically gave the entire system away. Now I am having to repurchase and rebuild. It was an emotional decision and a poor one at that - one I have often regretted.

Good luck with the rebuild of your slice of the ocean.
