Time to Re-start

Hello again everyone...

I'm currently debating whether to start up a new tank or skip out of this hobby all together. This summer I was away for several months living in a remote field camp and thus had to leave my beloved nano-reef in someone elses care.

Not surprisingly I returned home to a very dead tank. My caretaker had eventually emptied out all of the fish and water and I now have about 10lbs of dried LR.

So..... I think I want to get back into it yet I am going to go with some nicer equipment this time. I.e. Reefkeeper II or something along those lines.

Can anyone recommend ATO and Temp control equipment?



Really, I'm just interested in something that can turn my fans and lights on and off based on temperature.

Sorry about the tank. I really like the scaping and composition. How long was it running? That gorgonia looks beautiful.

You might want to check out Premium Aquatics. They sell a Lighthouse controller that is pretty basic and not as expensive as the bigger brands.

Aqua controller Jr. It can control all aspects of the tank (time, temp, pH, or all 3!)

Mine runs temp control, lighting, dosing, wavemaking etc.

Aquacontroller Jr seems to be pretty much exactly what I'm looking for.

A chiller would probably be much more simple for me - no fans and less evaporation to deal with.

It looks like I'm going to go with a 10G (though I wish I could go bigger) with my 70W MH and then I have ~50W of T5 kicking around.. maybe I can get those on too..... in the end I'll have a lot of heat to deal with - plus I like closed canopies.
