I have a 7 bulb T5 Aquatinic Constellation fixture and the bulbs are coming to the end of their lifespan I suppose. About 12 - 14 months old. Still look good but have been told they suffer from a severe shift in color spectrum aftet a year or so.
My current set up is:
1 figi purple
3 blue plus (I think)
3 white daylight bulbs (10000K I think)
So now I have to figure out a balance between looks and coral growth. And I would like a little more blue hint to the tank.
I'm thinking of:
1 ATI purple +
3 ATI aquablue special
3 ATI Blue plus
But I'm afraid this will be too blue. I know the specials are rated about 12000-14000K and are considered to be a white bulb with blue tint. Will that balance nicely with the blue plus bulbs? Do I need a true daylight bulb at 6000-10000K?
So...my question is...if this were your tank what would you put over it and why?
Thanks all
