Tiny Goldflake Angel

I've given an opportunity to pickup a real small (size of a quarter) Goldflake angel. How risky is it to pick up a small baby this size? I do not have an establish QT for this fish, it will have to make it through at least 3-4 weeks in bare bottom QT tanks before I am comfortable enough to put it in my DT.

Would feeling twice a day able to keep up to it's demand in a bare bottom QT? Should I pass?

Thanks for answering.

I have a couple goldflakes, the smaller of the two is about the size of the one you're looking at. I have it in my frag tank with a couple other juvi angels and she's doing really well. I probably feed that tank 3-4 times a day and she eats very well. It will be a long time before I feel comfortable putting her into my main display.

I see many of experienced fish keepers here have / had tiny angels. What is the general consensus of what's the minimum feeding per day to keep up with their need? I'm speaking of an empty QT tank here until the first 14 days of tank transfer is over.

I'd say 3-4 times a day is pretty accurate. When they're that small, their metabolism is crazy fast. Never had an angel that small, but I did have a chevron that could fit on a quarter, the picture is on here somewhere....

Eating is key. I try to offer food 3-4x daily during TTM and QT.
I got my goldflake at about 1.25 inches. She ate immediately and well in QT. I fed her the same as her eventual home. Flakes, pellets, frozen. After 8 weeks she went into the DT with fish they were 5" - 6" and held her own.
She's about 4.5" now.

@ kmbyrnes, how long did it take to grow from 1.25" to 4.5"? Mine's been eating mysis well and it's going through TTM right now this week.

Hopefully no other complications. *cross fingers*

She was purchased 07/17/2015, about 14 months.
Seems like she didn't grow at all for months, then just started getting bigger bit by bit.
