Tiny stands (desktop, countertop, etc.)

Can anyone post up pics / give descriptions of their little, tiny stands? I have a severe height restriction I'm trying to work with and I'm trying to get some ideas.

I'm looking for anything low profile, counter top, desk top type stands.

Thanks!

I'm not sure if this is exactly what you're looking for, but I have custom built 6.5 gallon on my desk and I used a nice cutting board under it.

That's actually a good idea, never really thought about that - as simple as it is.

I'm looking more for something around 8" - 12" high, kind of like a step stool / table / box type construction.

I use mid-century modern Cado cabinet to hold my 6g aquarium. Cado cabinets were designed as a wall system that used brackets to attach the cabinets to the wall in whatever configuration you want. I found two cabinets without brackets on ebay for $100 plus shipping. I am not using them on the wall but am instead using them as side tables for my sofa. I have them sitting directly on the floor. These units are about 17"T x 32" W x 15"D. Keep in mind that they were made in the 60s so you won't find them at your local furniture store unless they sell used furniture. I often see them available on ebay and sometimes at local antique/thrift stores. These are a mid-century modern design so have a nice, clean look about them. They also use high quality woods like rosewood and teak. They are extremely well constructed...much sturdier then alot of furniture produced today. Do a search for Cado cabinets/wall units to see some examples. Also, a full Cado set-up including several cabinets and the wall mounting rails will run over $1000. You specifically want to find someone selling individual cabinets, not a full system. I wouldn't think that one cabinet in good condition should run more than $150-200. My two cabinets cost less because both needed to be refinished.
