Tips on getting a bta to release foot?

I put a bta in my tank about a week ago in an area I thought it would like; it didn't and has moved to a different rock island which it doesn't really like either. On the other end of my tank is a large rock structure with tons of crevices, different water flows, lighting; I'm sure it could find a happy place on that rock structure if I could only get the anemone over there.

Since the rock structures are separated by sand and the anemone won't walk to the new preferred location, any tips on how to get the anemone to release so that I can relocate it? It is currently balled-up under an overhang with its foot really wedged in good.

you can try using ice cubes to coax the foot to release or gentle constant massaging of the foot , but in all likely hood if it likes where it's at currently it will move back
you wont have any control over rbta or anemones in general, they go where they want, I stopped trying years ago, just keep an eye out if they get too close to a PH then ill move them

Where ever you decide to relocate your BTA keep this in mind.

BTA's tend to prefer wedges or crevices to place their foot in.

Often when placing BTA's a tank for the first time, I clear away the substrate place the BTA in the fresh crater. Then rest a piece of LR next to it so they are touching and then cover it's foot and waist with gravel. 9 times out of 10 it'll stay where you have placed it.
