Tripod
shooting with cable release or with delay timer if yor camera does not take a cable or wireless release.
shooting perpendicular to the front glass to minimize distortions.
cleaning the glass before
decreasing water movement to minimize floating particles.
maybe feeding the corals a bit before to show polyps extension.
you can go as strict as adding some carbon a few days before to minimize yellowish tint of the water. or you could do the photosession a couple of days after your water change.
experiment with longer exposures which allow you to have smaller apertures so mor DOF (if your camera allows it)
Experiment with and without flash. guess you'll like the non flash pictures better as it's hard to get accurate coral colours with the flash. does your camera take an external flash? if not then it's harder to use the built in without ending up with flash reflections . You could always try shooting witht he cmaera pointing down this releaves you from the flash reflections but causes more distortion in the glass.
Follow those tips and I'm sure your pictures will be more than acceptable then post them for some people to help you better.
