Tips on introducing Angels to reef

well there is no doubt that you take a gamble just dumping a angelfish into a reef . I am not trying to start that debate.

I am however planning on acquiring a Dwarf angel and doing an extended QT to properly acclimate to captive life. Something like 3 months maybe. It also got me thinking that boredom may play a role in how much they pick. The thought I am toying around with is to do a harem thinking that the interaction between angels will help keep them occupied and prevent them from picking. It seems like all the individuals who are keeping angels successfully in a reef have multiple angels in there tanks.

Thoughts??

I have been researching for months. So I thoroughly understand the risks of an angel in a reef.

I believe Copps stated "I always say it is not WHAT you mix, but HOW you mix." Any thoughts??(Copps if you read this please chime in and I am sorry if I did not quote correctly)

I am open to any tips or tricks anyone is willing to share.

IME, it won't matter if the dwarf angel (( I only have experiences with dwarfs )) is alone or in a group as far as nipping at corals.

Out of my 6 dwarfs, my venustus one is the safest when it comes to corals, and it is the only one that is a solo dwarf. (( before I moved it was with a coral beauty and multicolored ))
My coral beauty is with a flame a multicolored, and it is the least safest of mine.

In a different tank I have a Potter's and a "blue" dwarf (( think a blue C. nox, not sure if it has been officially named yet )) -- the Potter's leaves the corals alone, whereas the blue dwarf will nip/eat anything I put in there.

What Todd said. Not IF but WHEN and HOW MUCH. Fish do not get bored. They live to eat as that is critical to their survival. If there is also an opportunity to mate and conditions are proper, and they are getting enough to eat, they will.

Thank You everyone. Was mostly a curiosity. I just noticed that in Copps TOTM article he had many dwarf angel pairs and though that perhaps there was more to it.

Thank You
