tissue recession on german blue polyp?

I have been experiencing some recession on the tips of my german blue polyp lately. Most of my corals are looking really well except for this one and my caps are in real bad shape. My alk is at 9.6 which is what I suspected first thing. I have always fought lower mag levels (around 1200) and from what I can tell this is the main issues. I have been seeing a few spots of red slime on my gravel bed lately. I changed out the phos media last week in case that is the cause of the red slime. Any ideas on this coral or maybe my caps.
thanks
jeff

Lower your ALK if your digital is having receding tissue. I keep mine around 9 - 8.6 ALK. Every tank is different so just pay attention to your coral. Increase your Mag supplement until it hits around 1320. You can have it higher if you wish. Once you get to this magic number your ALK and CA should start being stable.

I've been having the same problem, and been wondering if my phos media isn't the culprit.my mag stays on the high end but my alk tends to drift a little low at 7.5 also my calcium has a hard time staying above 400. Anyway I have a few little algea issues and last week got a phos reading of .02 so I started my phos reactor (low flow) and low and behold loss of tissue on the tips of some of my best corals within two days.I've had this happen b-4 and lost almost all of my montis first then alot of my large prized colonies. Close exam of my system revieled a few problems but nothing definate.
What are your params?
