titan trigger info wanted

just got a 10 inch titan and was wondering what info you all have on them such as how fast do they grow and at what size do they start getting the coloring ? its fins are yellow and he is starting to get some yellow in the side but mostly white and brown right now . and i allready know there mean he chases my grouper sometimes

Please post some pics. They grow at a normal trigger rate. Not sure about size and coloration I would think at 10 inches it would have adult colors.Does your source for these big Titans have more?I would love to get a big one, mine are both really small and even when I go to the wholesalers in LA they never have big ones.Does he have purple on his lower jaw?

They aren't imported that often for reasons of how aggressive they are and how large they become. They are stunning fish! I would love to see pics too.

Wow, that is a beautiful fish. It is makeing me wonder if mine is really a Titan. It was listed as Titan at the LFS, but when I went back a month later, they had one that looked similar, but was listed as a Pineapple trigger. I was just at Big Al's last week and they had one that looked similar and was listed as a Stary Trigger.

Here's a picture of one just before he chased me all the way back to the beach

I've only dealt with one titan over the years. Beautiful fish and so aggressive it would scare any man out of the water. The backstory: we were swimming by a nesting site once diving, not smart...

Looks like a pseudobalistus flav.... trigger to me. Even smaller size Titans have color. When very small and young the two look alike, but at 10" he would be showing color if he was a titan.

While I was diving in the Similans Islands I took a break and went snorkeling by myself with a disposable underwater camera. Was so enthralled at the corals and fish I didn't realize I was being tailed by two huge Titan Triggers.:eek2: I turned and looked behind me and saw them swimming and I swear they looked like they're smiling with those razor teeth. As I swam faster so did they and just like the previous poster I swam as fast as I could back to the boat. I was so freaked out I never did get a pic of them:( They came around when we scraped the food off of our plates after we ate though. They did not eat the spaghetti dinner but they loved the spicy chicken, who knew fish were picky like that:D

There is a nice article dedicated to Titan Triggers in this months Tropical Fish Hobbyist magazine. Regards Tim. Is there a pic of the titan in question?
