To catch a predator..

I had it with him. That damsel needs to go. I tried fishing, it seem to work, but he mart be smarter than he looks. I am not going to feed them tomorrow and I think I can con him to grab it. I am a fisherman too, so I have anything and everything about fish. I used a sabiki rig, only using 1 hook from it.
My clown seems to want it more even though the damsel is the aggressor.
Any trick, tips, or ideas? The only thing out of the question is I'm not goin to tear down the whole tank, its not that bad.

both. Well that would work but this damsels on HGH, he's about 4".
I have a dwarf lion, the damsel is about as big as him.

after hours and days trying to catch some damsels i was ready to try dynamite but my friend brought over some rum we did a waterchange and re arranged the tank looks better than before and i felt great the whole time good luck

About two weeks ago I caught all for of my damsels in a half hour. I just cut the top off of a water bottle and put some sand in it to keep it on the bottom. Then I put some of their favorite food in. About three minutes later they just started swimming in. Then I just covered the opening with a net and the little bastards were gone forever. I will never have a damb damsel again.

Get some live brine shrimp and train him to swim into the net, then yank him out.

Second!

thanks all. fishing didn't work to well, he didn't like the whole hook idea. I'm trying it right now with a glass jar and LIVE brine shrimp. So far he hasn't gone in the glass but he won't leave the area. I think it'll work.

Man I have the EXACT same problem. My domino damsel has killed 4 fish already (whenever I add a new one to the tank he attacks them and stresses them) and I don't know how to catch the fish because he's kind of smart and REALLY fast..good luck with yours

hell yea. Got him! My clown went in first the domino slowely followed.
Now, I guess I will be humane about it.
What do yall think I should do with him?

Exile him to the sump until you can find an agressive tank for him!

yep, he's in there now. I am so glad i caught him.
Now I just hope that the other damsel is cool; he was one of the victims before, none have visible damage.
thanks again, the bottle method took less than 15 minutes to work and didn't cost anything!

reading this is GOOD HUMOR this a.m!

"... this damsels on HGH"

that really cracks me up

hey try a very simple 3liter plastic coke bottle trick

cut top 1/3 off - right where it starts to round over to the top... cut off the screw portion also = make hole big enuff for the lil guy to fit into
then turn this cut off piece around and stick it back in the bottle but in the opposite direction that it started - reversed if that makes any sense

put some food in the bottle and wait it out

i swear i had 3 damsels in my 125 and i got them ALL out in less then 1 hour - i also caught ever chromis in the tank a couple times over during that time

this works really easy and if my directions for making it arent understandable then do a quick search to find a better description

otherwise try electric shock on the tank!

Huck him into a blender. Add a couple raw shrimp, some squid, a couple sheets of nori, couple drops of your favorite vitamin or garlic, and blend. Freeze in quart bags, feed to your fish in small amounts.

The only good a damsel will ever do for your tank.

:)
