To crab or not to crab that is the question

Ok my tank has been setup for quite awhile and I think its time for a CUC. So I'm looking at buying one and curious what people think of hermits as part of a CUC. I have a ton of really nice Acans and don't want any problems. I'm particularly interested in some Scarlet Hermits.

I got blue leg, scarlet, Halloween, and some electric blues. I have a lot of corals in my reef and they dont bug them at all. Every once in a grate while something will get knocked over but they dont eat my snails. I would not have a reef with out them but a lot of people dont like hermits.

personally id skip em. get torchan snails (sorry for the spelling) they can right themselves over and wont be eaten. I have personally seen over a dozen occasions where my hermits would flip a snail and just wait it out. at one point it looked like a snail graveyard. It is hard to say with hermits. but IMO a little goes a long way. I currently have 3 hermits eating a dying SPS. they are oppertunistic and eat when they can.

Banded Trochus and Nerite Snails are on my list. RJ do you have any? If so how's there temperament? I did have some in my 90 when it was setup and had no problems with them attacking snails or corals but I didn't have any Acans back then either. Kept allot of empty shells around for them.

Well I'm glad I don't have a condy anemones. Thanks for the info Thinker.

Lorenz love the avatar very cool. And thank you and RJ for the good info as well.
