To feed or not to Feed?

I just recently have purchased a Duncan Coral from the LFS. I have read in many different forums that this coral grows very fast. Because of this many people I have talked to have encouraged not directly feeding them to help slow growth.

I am not sure what to do with it, anyone have any thoughts?

Well it depends on wether you want it to grow faster or slower, nevertheless it will grow and if it gets too big you can always frag it.

I would like it grow slower I just want to make sure it is healthy at the same time. I guess my question is do I need to spot feed or will it be fine just catching what is drifting around in the water

I feed mine about once or twice a week depending on what I'm feeding my corals. It has shown much more growth since I started feeding it.

IMO target feeding always leads to healthier specimens. Just be sure not to import more than your skimmer and filtration can export. And with Duncan's growing too fast is a good thing as you can frag them easily and trade for other corals or store credit to buy supplies for the tank it's a win win. Just dont over feed that's a whole other problem in itself LOL. Jmo

I've had better results target feeding Reef Solution than when I was not target feeding. Coral Food (frozen cubes) has also worked well for me.
