to refrag or not (acan lords)

hello, i recently had a small problem in one of my tanks that caused 2 acan lord frags to lose 1-2 heads each. i am wondering if i should refrag them, that is cut the dead skeleton away and remount to a frag, or just leave it?

I'd wait for it to stabilize and then cut away the dead skeleton.

One of my acans fell into the sand and two partial heads turnef to jelly. I ckeaned it up, gave it an iodine dip, and a few weeks later it is regrowing new heads over the dead skeleton.
