I have a birdsnest with one lower tip that has some algae on it. The rest of the coral however looks fine. Should I just lop off the tip? Or is there a chance of a grow back?
Thanks!

Cut that tip. It'll grow back. I actually will cut off "stagnant" tips on many of my corals. That makes them head and usually grow in that very spot. I've found it to be a useful way to get the corals to grow in specific spots.
Snip it. If it's hair algae it could grow more into the colony and gets tangles up. By then it's would be difficult to take it off. Breaking the tip off will more likely grow multiple tips.
