I really think the 4 clubs in the area (or is it 5?) should band together, and put on the next WMC. Each club could have a few representitives on the WMC panel.

The WMC was the Western Marine Conference. A gathering of hobbiests that was here in Sacramento back in April with speakers and venders...I think the web site is still up at http://www.wmc2006.org
The latest WMC was hosted by MARS last April, there's been others held in the past by at least Seabay and one again, by MARS. I've attended all three of those, dunno if there was any prior to that though.
It would be great to have some bay area and other clubs in on this. We would be able to tap more resources and spread costs. I found it really nice to have the small crowd and time to chat with the experts but for recouping costs and raising funds for the clubs (assuming that is a goal) we would need to increase attendance.
I would worry about how it would all work with others clubs involved in planning. Where would you meet for meetings? We met almost every week or every other week, that would be pretty hard to do if we have people from the bay and valley. I'm not against thinking about it, just seems like it would make it more difficult.
