Dave - John will know far better than me, but I don't think you'll have a problem with 2 harems in that size tank except they may consistently mix. Mixed harems are not uncommon.

Wayne, I apologize for not being clear. I hope for many Centropyge harems in the tank, I was asking John's advice on two of the same species. I've always hoped that two flame angelfish males could survive given ample cover, mates and hiding spaces. One reason my tank is semi-circular is to limit the visual range of fish and territorialism.
My limited knowledge of reefs says females are constantly turning into males, so this type of pressure is natural. If the tank is appropriate large females of all harems could naturally change into multiple males fighting over females and territory. But I don't know much about natural territory sizes for Centropyge and I don't know of other people who have tried multiple harems. I thought John would have as good a guess as anyone.
C. fisheri is related to C. resplendens, and the rest of what we use to call the C. "argi" complex?
Does this include the Whitetail Angel?
