Toadstool frag question

So I have a toadstool frag (fell off my large toadstool) and I rubberband it to a rock and it is now attached. Polyps extend along with growth and connected to the frag rock.

Question is:

Why is it white?

I'm white? Whats wrong with white? :p

Obviously a picture would help see what white you are talking about..

bleached from over lighting?
Some of my leather frags do start out lighter but quickly regain mothers coloration..

Give it time.. Other than looking bleached it seems healthy..

It's not bleached because when it happened the lights were out and when I woke up it was already white

FWIW I was blasting my rocks with a powerhead the other day and I flushed out a small piece of my Toadstool. Some of the polyps were out, but it was completely white too. I'm guessing that hanging out in the shade for an extended period of time is what caused this to happen.
