How can you tell if a toadstool is dead.. my toadstool has been shedding for a week. and is white.

they'll fall apart when they are dead, if it's been shedding for a week, you need to increase flow around it, it shouldn't take more then a day or two to sloth off the outer layer in proper flow. low flow during a shed is how most people loose leathers.

No, it's an indication that they are having difficulty sluffing the shed.
