Toby's and a reef

I have had a valentini puffer for 1.5yrs now and he hasn't ever messed with any of my lps, or softies. Has anyone had long term success with a toby and a reef. Should I remove him or wait and see what happens. I have heard when they get larger they will turn on your zoa's. I know a clam would be a bad idea but the only thing he seems to dislike are snails and i can live with that.

One and a half years sounds a decent amount of time to me. I have had a janthinoptera puffer the same time approx, and exactly the same story. Mine hasn't touched my zo's, though I think they suck the slime a bit.

I have a Fiji blue spotted puffer...a bit less time than you guys, maybe six months...but he's been pretty well-behaved, other than Nassarius snails...he took most of those out in short order. I don't really have zoanthids, but occasionally he samples an SPS tip. He seems to remember why he doesn't like them, and leaves them alone for several weeks. Its never been enough to do permanent damage.

So clams are a bad idea though? I was afraid of that, although I was thinking of trying one. Hmmm...
