I went to mt LFS who has been trying to get a mantis for me for a month and in a plastic container in the frag tank was a beautiful peacock...i got him for 30 bucks he about 2 1/2 inches long and has already got know me by his flairng at the glass after i acclimated him. He is scopin out his new home and redecorating as he wants. He ate shrimp at the LFS so i bought some snails so he can eat when ready. He is in a 10 G AGA w/ a aquaclear 300 "fuge" and about 12 lbs. Dropped,

You didn't happen to read the thread last week about smashers and glass tanks, did you? A peacock in a 10 g AGA might not be such a good idea. My peacock often whacks the side of the tank when it sees its reflection. Just yesterday it repeatedly whacked the side of the tank, on the same spot, as it tried to move a large piece of LR I'd just put into the tank. The LR was covering one of its burrow entrances and lying against the glass - I eventually moved the rock because I was nervous that the mantis would damage the tank, even though it's (thin) acrylic. You might want to think about moving it to a bigger tank (i.e. one with thicker glass then a 10 g) or to an acrylic tank.

Good luck - they're really nifty critters.
