I just joined today and my wife and i really enjoyed ourselves. We can't wait until the 18th. if it is anything like today it will be very informative and interesting. hopefully there will be more members there so I can meet more of everybody.

i wish we would have stayed, band practice got cancelled and we missed the meeting for nothing.....im not missing Mike P for nothin'.

Man you drove all the way down there and then back home and practice was cancelled! I would be PO'd! :mad2:

I thought in all Scott was a very informative speaker. Def. knows his stuff about his fish! Did anyone order his new book coming out?

So who's all going to be getting a goby/pistol shrimp?

I wish I could have hung around longer to BS with some of you but my wife has a big test tomorrow and really needed to get a lot of studying done.

I did ask her what she thought on the way home, to get a neutral opinion from someone that isn't a reef geek! :D

The first thing she said was "I think he looks a lot like Billy Bob Thorton!" "rolleyes"

But she did say she liked it, but didn't understand a lot what he was talking about, when he was talking about some stuff. Anyway hopefully she'll be attending more meetings in the future.

Yes I ordered a book of course!! :)

I thought the presentation was great and he was a great guy. Alot of good ideas and I cannot wait to see his new book.

Great meeting. It's cool to get some real subject matter experts to our meetings. I learn so much at meeting like these.

Good job you guys that set this up! :)

yeah I loved it and I am sorry I missed the first few minutes of the meeting and had to run out to get on to the next family event.

For all of those in the club that missed it I will have 3 copies made for distribution of this presentation in the next few weeks!

It really was a great presentation!

I would love to borrow one. Hated to miss it but didnt want to chance the roads with wife & kids.

Craig

Thanks John.

Someone fill me in though...what'd he say about pistol shrimp/goby combos? I've had one for a long time now, but I'd be interested in his perspective.

He said dont put them in anything smaller than a 75g :p :p

He also showed some pretty naughty fish video :fun1:

Dan

Basicaly he said that every tank should have a goby/pistol shrimp! Because they're cooler than the whole clownfish/anenome thing.

I think Dan was getting way to excited during the frogfish part! :fun1:

I guess we should have been Id'ing at the door to make sure everyone was 18 so they could watch that!
