Todd's 180 DT System

Thanks,

There's really now way to get my mass of Chaeto to tumble- too large.
So I turn it over every few days and poke it with a plastic handle to mix it up some.

Getting ready for my big party tomorrow; Wisconsin Reef Society- family and friends, already about 50+ online RSVP's!

Looks like you are ready. Tank looks great and fish look happy. Now be certain to help the wife clean up or this will be your last party. Hahaha

Thanks, Party went GREAT! Clean up wasn't too bad either- what a great group of people to have over as guests.

I took a few random shots while at my party:
Wisconsin Reef Society; January 2015...

Very nice... When is the next gathering, I might have to make a road trip.

Really neat to see months ago picture and then recent. Good job!

Thanks Worm- I usually host the WRS party every January.
We have other monthly meetings, a full day bus trip to chicago area reef shops, one to the Chicago Shedd Aquarium coming up also.

Well, my bin in the bin thing I got going isn't gonna work with this beast.

I also had to get a new bin large enough and to maintain the water skimmer level.
This may also just get me to finally get my drilled 40b set up as a seperate frag tank incorporated with the same system.
But first, to get the skimmer in and going tonight or tomorrow morning.

Here's the skimmer:

Here's the new bin to go in my 125g sump to just fit the foot of the RO skimmer in:

No it might not fit correctly, but the Banquet beside it will, along with some ice, and the rest of the case.

Got this Beast fired up!

The pump said it was a 3000 model, 3K L/hr.
Has a real nice pin wheel. If if goes out, I'll upgrade- now quit blowing the wind out of my sails!

I had to ger a suitable container for my new skimmers footprint. Wow, this thing is huge!

I measured, did it agian, and modified the rubbermaid tub to suit my new skimmers needs.
I still used the same spacer plastic box underneath- this gives the skimmer the right water line heigth while maximizing the overall sump volume.

This is where my skimmer sat- until today:

This is most of the ourflow to keep the skimmer water height constant:

Here's the beast in it's new digs in the sump:

I've always heard of certain skimmers referred to as a 'Beast'- I think this on falls into that caregory.
