Toggle and momentary switches

I 'm setting up a number of momentary (push button) and toggle switches that will run through my APEX.

These will power functions like Pumps off, skimmer off, feed cycle, return delay override, alarm silence, etc. 8 in all. I have three breakout boxes, as there are other switched functions not using the toggles.

I can't think of a way to take advantage of the lighting function on illuminated switches. These switches all seem to be designed for an appication where you are switching a powered device (e.g., an LED light). It's easy eough to use make the switch light when on if that's the case. But for the APEX, I'm not running any power through the switch, since it's just a user input switch (well, maybe the APEX does send a small signal current through, but presumably not enough ot light anything).

Has anyone figured out a way to have an APEX switch illuminate?

Thanks.

The switch needs to have a seperate power input. The bob does not supply power to the switch for illumination.

I ordered a few different kinds off Amazon and will be playing with them to see which style I like before ordering more.

My assumption had been that I could do just that -- supply a seperate 12v power supply for the light. But the ways these switches work, all of the ones I've seen anyway, they draw power from the same source at that used for the switch. There's no option to wire in a power source that does nt also go to the circuit being switched.

It can be done using a 12vdc power source, and a series of relays.
You would need a relay for each switch. Automotive type will work. Usually around 5-10 bucks. Use the switch to close the relay, which will close the circuit for the BOB. If you need more of an explanation on how to wire this up, shoot me a PM with your phone #.
But in my option, not worth the cost or trouble.
