too early to add snails?

my tank is in its 3rd week of cycling, no ammonia, ph good, but nitrites around 6. are snails hardy enough to live in this? starting to get algae and was contemplating getting a few snails or should i wait for the nitrites to hit zero?

I would wait for your nitrites to hit zero, hermit crabs maybe, snails are a bit more tempermental

ok, i will be patient. thanks for the good advice. it is hard to just sit and watch an empty tank
