I also agree that you are probably referring to the vermetid snails. I have them and also a CBB in my tank and it does not eat them at all. I have done some researching before of how to get rid of them as well but it always seems that the answer is "manual removal"... I am pretty sure that I have also read that a someone's yellow corris wrasse ate them, but then others commented on that thread who had a yellow corris wrasse that didn't touch them. FWIW, I have a melanarus wrasse (same family as yellow corris) and he also does not touch the vermatid snails.

cover the opening with a small piece of putty.

they send out a net, capturing bacteria and detritus, that "net" can irretate some SPS corals.

use a hypodermic syringe with needle and inject them with alk. solution. do NOT overflow the tube, the solution is heavy and will stay in the tube. Make sure to reduce your dosing to compensate for this. Also do only a few each day leaving a few days in between "kill" days. I have no side effects on the corals nearby as long as I dont overflow the tube. I have not done this on any that are growing "in" the confines of coral tissue so be careful if thats the case. Good Luck

When you start getting large increasing numbers there really isnt much that can be done. Destroy the ones near the sps

well, found a thread a while back that bumble bee snails eat them, they dont. I use kalk in a syringe and fill the tube as stated above.

yes vermetilid snails

yes vermetilid snails

Hi guys, thank you all of you for the advise as i'll try to use kalk to inject it or manual remove! I APPRECIATED
So sad to see all this going around my 3 month old tank, well i needed some Help for my tank is 36"x 30"x20" as im currently using only one MH 250W 14k phoenix

I Was thinking of settle for ATI sunpower fixture, but im not sure about how Many tube should i go with and hope you guys can advise me on my situation Which is best for my tank...GOOD DAY!!

cleaner or peppermint shrimp should do the trick. just make sure feed a bit less for a few days to get them going.

these organisms are filter feeders.

they have a hard shell, and a snail looking thing lives inside.

breaking it off wont work, it will just go lower in the tube and rebuild its shell.
no shrimp or snail or ... can eat it as well [some butterflies do though]

kalk is a good option, but since they are filter feeders, more would just grow in its place ...

them growing out of hand, would mean too much suspended detritus in tank, removing its food source would limit its growth.

HTH,
