Too much light for fish?

Ok so, I have two main light systems, I have an led light system with a fluorescent light and then I have a double fluorescent system I turn the led with small fluorescent on in the morning and then I turn the double fluorescent system around mid day, to try to simulate the mid day sun and my coral seems to be doing very good no bleaching and all the polyps are out during the day, and all the signs I a thriving and healthy coral but idk about the fish because when I turn the double fluorescent lights on they seem to scatter a little bit and even hide a little bit and idk if you can have too much light for fish

what kind of fish do you have? your fish will be fine under fluorescent lighting imo. most fish have no problem even under metal halides and led lightings anyway.

The brighter and clearer the water, the easier it is for predators to see there prey. It's natural for the fish to hide out a bit. Usually they will become more comfortable as they realize you and your critters aren't trying to eat them, but are actually feeding them. Then they will start to beg every time they see you.

I think its the sudden change in brightness, rather than peak intensity that is "startling" them. If you can make the change more gradual somehow, perhaps the behaviour will change. Easy with LEDs not sure how to do with florescent tubes. I guess you could shade them and test this theory manually.

I have two clowns, a six line, chromises and a goby and it's been to the point that I've turned on the light and the chromises hide in the back corner where the light doesn't get to that well and the six line actually freaks out and runs into the glass :(

I run 324W of T5 over a 55 and my fish are fine and always out during the day. Do you use a timer? If not I would recommend it as your fish and coral will get into a cycle and its neat to see everyone getting "ready for bed" 30 mins before lights out. Considering people keep fish under huge halides, I think your fine
