Hi,
I just got a 4 inch crocea and have it situated at a top shelf of my rockwork around 4 inches from the water and a total of 12 inches from a 400W MH...
Currently I have 2 layers of glass top to subdue the light and allow it to acclimate....
so far it's opened up real wide... 1-2 inch extension of the mantle... and is very reactive to light changes..
My question:
is there a danger of burning the clam
how long should I keep the glass shields on and how do I know it's acclimated to the light...
another question is the byssal gland seems to have extended beyond teh shell border and is lifting the shell off the rockwork at one point... is it trying to burrow into the rock? how long does that take...
thanks all
