Too much macro in fug?

Will having too much macro in my fug cause the nitrate level to be high? I was told that it would. If so, would someone explain?

No, macros will eat nitrates, and then when you harvest them, you are exporting nitrates from your tank.

Better to contiuously prune your macros. I could see if the fuge gets clogged up with poor light penetration and poor flow the macros could begin to die back and release organic matter back into the water.

Ahh I didnt know you had to trim the macros....if they arent dieing do you still need to trim them?? Also can you switch the macros between tanks to get rd of the nitrates in them??
