Saturday. went to Exotic, O street, and Capital

My favorite's were in that order too. the old guy at O street was pretty cool, so was his shark!

Did we miss any good one's?

cool. I'll look those up. anything stand out special from these?

that shark was so badass at O street!
I like that "sherbert" fish at capital, along with the HUGE koi

Exotic was crazy, note the Octopus!

Your Reef = SPS. Lately a variety of fish. Lots of zoas too.

Coral Reef: You never know what you'll see, odd critters, softies, zoas, nice people.

JoJo is expanding and has both saltwater/reef and freshwater.

personally my fav is your reef.....my g/f loves that place as well....she doesnt like all the other places but that for some reason...

At the top of these forums you will see a thread titled Sacramento area stores.
This is a link to a google map that show the majority of the stores good and bad, it doesn't sort the stores by the stock they carry.
But it will give you address on them all.

i like YR because of the sps and zoas. also there used to be two sharks at O street. if you like the sharks than you should go to fish planet and see their black tip sharks.

Aside from the quality of item's you will find, I choose the store's I frequent by their customer service...
Your Reef is "top notch"!
Followed by a tie between Coral Reef Shop and Jo Jo's
If you want to see sharks dont miss out on Fish Planet's 5000g Black Tip Reef Shark display! Their service is about tied with Exotic and O st.
Capitol rate's at the bottom of my list for service and I will not even waste a trip there...
(IMO)!

I went to Capitol when I was starting out. I soon found that the prices and customer service were not good at all. I haven't been in a couple years so they might have changed. You don't hear of the locals going there that often. "o" street is right around the corner and much better in my opinion.

too bad everything at aqua workz and o street are in a constant sate of death. all the fish look near death and the coral is always pulling back. your reef is awsome brandon and john take care of everyone and have lots of really neat frags because they have patience to grow a frag out. soon aqua life will be doing this and i cant wait to see what they got. brandons brother kyle works over there and between the two of them i get most of my coral and info about my tank.

all the stuff at O street looked pretty good to me. Capital was my least favorite also. We wanted to go to Fish Planet, but ran out of time. Lunch at Buca De Beppas was awesome. Good day all around

thanks for all the replies, and if anyone's ever in Lodi, talk to Elliot and Danny at Kalypso Aquatics.

Hmmm, that hasn't been my experience. I've never noticed O street to be a bad place what so ever. Aquaworkz does not seem to be quite as established yet, but I think "constant state of death" is a bit dramatic.

That being said, you're new to the forum, and you have to build a little reputation before you get to trash on people and stores, my friend.

Welcome to reefcentral.

I loved your reef and O st when I visited. I always stop by both of those and sometimes capitol just for the freshwater fish. I wasn't overly impressed with Fish Planet although it was a nice store.

I like Rob at underwater paradise, his store always has nice healthy stuff, that's in Marysville and Red sea is alright in my book also.

umm so having rep makes someone able to bash something? ok  anyways every time i go into aquaworkz the fish are looking pretty sad, ie breathing heavy and look very washed of any color or life. the FW system seems to be ok. the coral there seems to always be receding OR its something of the common coral that is not interesting. i do not believe that i need rep to notcie this. the coral tanks are very nice in aquaworkz, i just wish that they had some rare/less common coral as well as some that were not dieing. o street jsut seems to not have anything in stock. maybe i am missing the new shipments every time i go into that store but there is nothing in there that catches my attention except for stuff in the display tank that they will not sell. i am sorry that you think that becasue i have not been on this forum that i have no right to "bash" or make an observation of what i see in store. granted that when i go into aqualife i do still see death it is usually due to a power outage or tranship issue. everyone has their issues i understand that but when you go in time and again and all you see is dissapointment its hard to think of something as a good place. i will keep posting on here i hope you do not think less of my opnion based on my "noob" status here, i am sure that we will not have any problems after we clear this up. i just think that name calling is not what anyone on any forum wants so i am willing to ignore this if you can see my point. if you cant oh well. i am accually really pleased that there are all these shops in town, it gives me somthing to do on break and keeps compitition high. i just feel that aforementioned shops need to pick up their game.
also when i was in fresh water o street was awsome.i got the most beautiful EBJD and no one else in town could touch the quality.

thanks for the "sort of warm" welcom ;)

I give O street props, everything looked really healthy. I asked the old dude if ALL coral was for sale, and he was happy to put a price on whatever I asked about. Personally, I was very impressed with their selection. It wasn't fair to them to say "EVERYTHING at (aqua works &) O street was in constant state of death"

nobody wants to hear un-deserved "trashing" no matter what your "Rep" is

this site is an amazing tool when used properly. just stay on the positive side. no worries, reef on

This is a club forum. Please keep the bashing off the forum. I'm sorry if my comment was misconstrued, perhaps I tried to say to much at once. I like to subscribe to the idea of constructive criticism, not just criticism. And my comment about reputation was meant to say that when you're brand new and your introduction to the club are categorical comments that might be construed as very negative or false, I'd hate to see that come back to bite you.

That said, seriously, welcome to the club forum, and we hope you can make it to club meetings. Are all welcome here, but please follow the golden rule.
