Am expecting my RO/DI and refractometer any day now. Water parameters are in check otherwise. Tank has been up and running for about a month. I just got back from the LFS with some top off water and 24 red leg hermits, 6 Mexican turbos and 24 black snails. I'm planning on staying this way for another several weeks, probably a month. I have yet to get a light though. Should I just use the regulat T-5 from when I had a freshwater set up for the time being? Or, will these animals be OK with whatever is on the rock??? I really don't want this to go badly, any advice is appreciated.

The hermits and snails will be fine with regular T5 lighting. You won't need a lighting upgrade until you're ready to move on to corals.

+1, or at least make sure it's a 10k t5 bulb. got a sump? what's your filtration?

How many bulbs in the T5 fixture you currently have?

If it's a 4-6 bulb fixture, I'd consider that your fixture even for corals. With a 10-15k bulb, your in great shape for lighting.
