Top cross frame broken on 50 gallon glass bow front tank

I purchased a used 50-gallon bow front glass aquarium. The silicone seams looked tired and frayed so I am resealing it. My question: the top plastic frame has a broken center piece. Can I take it off and make the aquarium a rimless tank? Or is it a MUST have for the tank? Does anyone know who makes these frames? Please let me know. it measures, side to side (back 36") (front 37"), height 20 1/2", width 12 1/2. I've emailed a couple of placed and awaiting reply.

If it has a brace it was built to have the brace. I would not try to use it with a broken/removed brace. Do you know what company manufactured the tank? That would be the best bet to find a replacement.

Exact thing happened to my 90 bowfront when the floor warped under it. Made a huge pop when the brace broke. After that it would creek and click and pop a few times each day.

Did not take a chance, and I gave it away.
