I'm sure I have another thread in this forum on some shots I've taken, however without the ability to search I'll just make another.
I took a few of these shots the other day, and I was pleased with the results, so thought I'd bra... er share, just try not to focus on the algae covering the rocks... that's mature rocks!
Opening up a Tongan Acan. sub.esc I got about 3 years ago or so from a club event, it was ugly brown, like only brown, but it was when Acans were a hot fad, so I grabbed a piece. Needless to say over the years it's colored up beyond the brown.
Here's what it looked like in January 2007 (this isn't a top down shot though.
Another subech. it took a beating not too long ago when it fell into an open brain, but I'm nursing it back.
Hey look another subech! Was basically "orange" (i.e. faded brown) for a while, some green highlights, so it's coming into it's own. It might be a little too close to the subech in the first pic, I'm not sure if these guys will fight it out being from different locals, or if they'll just peacefully touch (yeah like that ever happens in a reef tank!)
Finally not an Acan! Was identified as a Montastrea cavernosa, so I'll go with that unless I hear otherwise.
That's all, none of these were "special" in any way (i.e. came from an "eyecandy" site.. not that it makes them special.. just expensive
), they're all from corals the club donated to various events and I've just happily kept them going.
