Top Off System???

Sorry for jacking the thread... if i get one of these ato units from ato.com can i just place a 5 gallon bucket under my tank and hook up the unit to it can I use it as a dedicated ato system? my tank is not drilled and i dont have a sump. I like the idea of not haveing to do these manually.

yeah, just put your pump in the 5 gal. tank with a hose running to your sump and your set

BTW +1 more on the ATO.com unit, been running mine for 5 years with no problems

Thanks for the info guys. I bought a Tunze and set it up, it was too easy to set up and it works great. I put a 5G tank to hold the water. Here is the next question...
Should I put in a jet and Throw in Nano Code A+ B so that it can do some dosing also? What do you guys think?

I would say no. You wouldn't have any control over the consistency of your dose.

Just fresh water. I use the avast marine ato and it's great. It uses a pressure switch and not a float so it will not get stuck. I have a 5 gal bucket full of ro and it works great. When I go out of town I put a 30 gal tank as the top off supply.

I use autotopoff.com with an aqualifter as well, cheap and works perfect
