Top off systems?

What do you guys use for a top off system in your large tanks?

When my house is finished being built we are going to put a large (around 240) tank in the wall with a sump and fuge in the basement, and i was wondering what you guys use to keep the water level constant?

A local reefer is selling a Kangaroo 324 dosing pump for around $90 bucks but i dont think it will be able to keep up with the evaporation of a tank that big.

I personally use a litermeter pump. The most reliable thing there is in the market. Costly, but reliable and allows you to have some room for failures.

What are some different options... iv heard the float switch can not work, or get stuck working and make a REAL mess.

I like the Tunze Osmolator. It has a high level sensor, a low level sensor, and a auto timer cut-off should any of the other sensors fail. It also comes with a pump.

If your running your top-off through a Kalk reactor of some sort you may want to go with something like a Aquamedic dosing pump to run the kalk at night. You will have to learn what your evap is so that you can set it appropriately.
