Top water turbulance

How much do I need? I took off the biowheel mechanical filter. That created top water movement but was ugly and created alot of salt creep. I have (i hope) enough live rock to sustain the bio filter (40lbs in a 39 gal with argonite sand). I added another powerhead (penguin 660) coupled with the Korilla 3.

Should I have this 660 pointed toward the top of the water to create good movement? And if so how much top water movement do I need.

I have a tunze nano streem much like the korilla that you have pointed towards the surface. The point of that is to encourage gas exchange Co2 out and O2 in. I have a pretty decent ripple on the surface of my tank. The more agitation you have the better your gas exchange and that will help keep your PH balanced.
