Torch behavior

tried to search this but didn't come across anything... so here goes. Just got a torch last week. All has been going well so far, no color loss , no issues per se but this morning on inspection i noticed one of the polyps' mouths was gaping and the arms were retracted all around it, only one polyp. Then it released some smokey discharge from the mouth and the arms got really thin, like nighttime withdrawn. They expanded a bit and this process happened for about a half hour that i saw?? When I left , the mouth had closed up and the tentacles returned to their daytime lengths... any ideas?? Over the last couple days my Favia has seemed to have not been extending its feeders and sweepers as well, Not really any color loss and no tissue recession, but it doesn't seem to be inflated quite as much... but that seems to come and go over the last week. Just wondering if this is all tied in together??

I've noticed my calcium has dropped from 420 to 380 despite my regular water changes and my Mag has gone from 1350 to 1185 lately too.... Alk is steady at 2.5 and pH steady at 8.2. I've added a few more corals over the last month and it seems as if I need to start dosing a bit to get my levels back up to where they were... but other than that, water is where it should be... 0's across the board.

well the favia is about 6 inches above the torch on the rocks right now.. i just got the torch so i put him on the sand bed for starters till he gets acclimated to the light setup. I haven't seen the torch put sweepers out at night yet and unless they are over 5 inches long and go directly up i don't think that's the case. With the current it would be stinging the mushroom rock directly behind the torch frag more so.

As for the waste thing, that's kind of what i figured based on reading up on some anemone's, seemed very similar to what they do.

Are favia LPS?? if things happen to go bad, just wondering where i should post questions about it?
