torch branches dying

So recently one of my longer walls of torch coral started to receed and all of it died off within a week. The remaining parts were doing fine for about a week and now another branch began sliming and tonight was so brown and slimed that I chose to remove it and cut the bad branch that was slimed out. When I cut the branch there was an orange type of slime or something that was in the middle of the branch and dots of it on the outer skeleton. Is this some sort of disease to worry about?
I have lost a hammer wall a few months ago the same way it seems. I have a decent sized 2 headed frogspawn in the tank as well as some other lps and softies.

I do. When I first got my branch hammer it died in the same way yours did. I have no idea why, I just know that it died and it died within two days and then another head and another head all took two days each to die.

I told the owner of the LFS I go to and he said when I am ready to try again he would give me some frogspawn.

Waited two weeks added 5 heads and it didnt die.

A month later I added a hammer and it didnt die. They are both doing great.

I still dont know why they died.

The first head of my torch died today in the same manner... 2 heads left... anyone have an Idea why?
