I've read that if a clownfish hosts a torch coral, it will kill the coral. Can somebody confirm this? Also, has anyone had success with this, where the coral survived just fine. Many thanks
My clowns play in the torch coral but I wouldn't say that they host it?! They hang out in the tentacles sometimes but swim the tank freely also. No harn to either of them.
It all depends on the coral IME. Some don't mind the constant interaction, while others might become smothered by it. I had a pair of Ocellaris clownfish demolish a Duncan coral one time, but the Bubble coral I have now doesn't seem to mind all the attention it gets.
