Torch Coral or Frogspawn

Not sure what I want to go with. From experience, what would be the wise choice? I have some Zoa's and a Duncan Head, both are doing great.

I use TrueLumen Pro 48" LED x2, 75g Tank with Fuge.

Very fast response, I love this Forum. Thanks much. I feed my Duncan every Monday and Friday and just love watching it eat. I will check the prices and go from there. Pics to come.

Thanks again,

Brian

If you go frogspawn it will play better with other euphyllia corals than the torch will. You can mix frogspawn with hammer, grape, etc but the torch coral will have to go with other torch corals.

This is at least true in my tank.

Well, I went and picked up a Hammer. Not included in the title, but I saw it and very much so liked the selection. I will keep that in mind and maybe pick up a Frogspawn as my next.

That's nice ... frogspawn (wall and branching) can touch hammers (wall and branching). But torchs must be alone and no touching with others ... they can burn other euphyllias.

Pic as promised. Open already and looks great.

Torches needs to stay by themselves, those tentacles will take care of rest of the population same as the galaxea :(

I agree with the above. Has anyone else noticed that the torch corals with the fatter tentacles seem to be less aggressive than the ones with thin tentacles? I noticed that in my tank (before I had a fight with brown jelly disease).

Yes, I also noticed that. You have to be more careful when torches have long tentacles. When they "detect" another coral nearby, they create longer tentacles specialized in "stinging", which have more urticant cells.

Bkoper, very very nice hammer. It's not the typical one. It's an Euphyllia ancora "inverted" or "green stem". The most common wall hammers are like this: pink polip and fluorescent green tip, but some of them have the colors "inverted", green polip and clear tip.
Very nice.

Duna, Thank you. I am happy with it. It has opened every day and looks great so far. I am nervous adding LPS, as I am new to corals.
