Torch Coral Placement?

I recently bought a torch coral, since it was pretty cheap ($22 for 5 heads, which is not bad). I was wondering if the placement of this torch coral is okay and if it will attack the zoas near it.

Thanks in advance!!

looks fine there... however, it will attack anything it can touch, so as long as anything is beyond tentacle reach you should be fine.

IMAG0583.jpgDo you think these two favias will attack each other? I got them from the same store and the owner said they wont attack, but im not so sure. He put them in the same tank next to each other, so maybe it'll be okay? Also, the tentacles are fairly short, the longest i have seen them after dark is 0.5cm, usually shorter.

Whats your opinion on them?

These look to be Acans, not Favia.

Hmm it looks like the key difference between favias and acans are that favia heads are almost stuck together and acans are separate? Not sure if that's right, but it just seems that way from the pics on google.

I think you're right, it's probably an acan, cause at night the heads kinda separate a bit when they try to feed.

Thanks for the news! Now I know they won't go to war :P

I know I really should know the name of the coral I'm buying, but I live in Hong Kong and the shop keepers can't give me English names (I speak chinese, but the names they give me don't really help). So a lot of the times it's a bit of gamble for me :/ . On the bright side, corals are usually more than half the price compared to the online ones :D

If they are Acans, they can extend feelers pretty far and kill what's next to them. Other Acans shouldn't trigger any response though. Just keep them away from anything else because they can grow very fast.

Acans are fine next to each other they are probably most mellow lps out there .. And they are very slow growing.
