Torch coral SPLITTING??????

OK, not splitting, but dropping babies? Is this normal? I will try to get pics, but it is in a not so photographical area.

I've had froggy do it. You know how you get those little sprigs growing out the side, well if one breaks off you get something like that but it seems more weird on a torch.
